In order to further our mission, we reach out to our neighbors at special events throughout the year. Whether it’s presenting educational workshops, organizing community forums, tabling at health fairs, doing free lung health screenings, or teaching groups about effective advocacy, we always aim to directly involve those that we serve in our own efforts to serve them. Here are some local events that will take place soon:

WORLD TB DAY WEBINAR
The Need for TB Elimination in California
Tuesday, April 2, 2024 • 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Register Now!

More than two million Californians have latent TB infection (LTBI), and cases of infectious TB disease are rising. Most people with LTBI are not aware of their infection, placing them at risk for becoming sick with preventable TB disease. Like so many other epidemics, TB disproportionately impacts the Asian American (AA), Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian (NH/PI), Black, Latinx, and immigrant communities in the state, and disparities are huge.

Join our allies at the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) and the Coalition for a TB Free California (CTFC) for a World TB Day webinar during National Public Health Week to learn about the latest TB statistics and gain access to new resources you can use to help move California toward TB elimination. Hear from a TB survivor about the impact of the disease on their life as a call to action for moving toward TB elimination.

Who should participate:

  • Organizations and providers serving BIPOC and immigrant communities
  • TB advocates and survivors
  • Health and racial justice advocates
  • Public health officials
  • Health care providers
  • Policy makers and staff

This webinar is free and open to all! Register today.
