In order to further our mission, we reach out to our neighbors at special events throughout the year. Whether it’s presenting educational workshops, organizing community forums, tabling at health fairs, doing free lung health screenings, or teaching groups about effective advocacy, we always aim to directly involve those that we serve in our own efforts to serve them. Here are some local events that will take place soon:
From Ashes to Art: Creating a Better Tomorrow
WHAT: Anti-Tobacco Poster Contest Showcase and Press Event
WHEN: Friday, June 7th from 12:00-3:00 PM

We invite you, the community, stakeholders, coalition members, partners, youth, friends, and family to attend our youth art showcase as we display posters created by the youth to educate the community on the dangers of tobacco use. Three winners will be selected and presented a prize for their artistic contributions.
Attendees will enjoy an art walk, food and refreshments, photos with local policy makers, and great speakers. The showcase will be followed by a press event with information regarding current tobacco use and product trends, in addition to a youth panel discussion covering their work in tobacco prevention and education efforts over the years. We hope to see you there! For more information, email sheila@lungsrus.org.
