“I really liked camp because it taught me a lot about my asthma. At the camp I learned how to breathe better when I run. Now I can run farther without getting tired. Before the camp I would wheeze at night and it was hard to sleep. Now I sleep better.”

Agency Celebrates Success at BODY WORLDS 2

On January 26th, BODY WORLDS 2’s tenure at The Tech Museum came to a close. Over its four-month run at the South Bay attraction, BODY WORLDS 2 inspired almost 300,000 visitors by offering a rare and unique glimpse inside the human body.

As the special exhibition ended, Breathe California also celebrated a successful partnership that allowed it to reach visitors with important messages about lung health. In addition to hosting a November 11th event that drew a large Veteran’s Day crowd, the agency’s special “I Quit” program at the museum encouraged more than 450 people to pledge to quit smoking. Over a 6-week period late last fall, agency staff also provided quit-smoking counseling to approximately 50 current smokers at a special BODY WORLDS booth. Furthermore, 7 Breathe California volunteers spent 49 hours serving at the exhibit’s “Ask the Experts” table.

Thanks again to all those who helped make our partnership with BODY WORLDS a true success for our local communities!
