Agency Launches New Global Warming Project at Milpitas Schools

This March, Breathe California is proud to be launching Youth for a Cool Earth, an innovative school-based program to engage youth in combating climate change. The program is designed to help youth initiate projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their homes, schools and communities. Through a grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the agency will be piloting the project at three schools on Escuela Parkway in Milpitas with hopes of expanding the program throughout the Bay Area in 2009. You can help support clean air projects like Youth for a Cool Earth by joining us at the 18th annual Clean Air Awards Luncheon on April 18th. All proceeds from the event support the agency’s air quality programs. You can also make an online donation and designate it to a specific program, like “Youth for a Cool Earth" or "clean air projects.” We appreciate your support!

Learn How to Protect Your Child from Asthma Triggers in the Home

Studies have shown that the air quality inside your home can be even worse than it is outdoors – posing a particular risk for kids suffering from asthma. So on March 13th, Breathe California will be hosting its spring PAC (Parents of Asthmatic Children) meeting to discuss ways to improve your home environment. Come learn new strategies to maintain a clean and healthy home while networking with other families who are confronting asthma. You can find more details about the upcoming meeting in our latest PAC Newsletter! We hope to see you there!
