What are Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Fibrosis?

These are conditions that are the result of scarring that has occurred in the lungs. The scarring makes breathing more difficult.

Causes

An infection in the lungs or injury from breathing certain materials that causes scarring.

Symptoms

Trouble breathing and shortness of breath, dry cough and chest pain.

Treatment

Treatment focuses on relieving symptoms but there is no cure for this progressive disease.
