Lung Health Programs
Lung disease causes 1 in 7 deaths and afflicts more that 850,000 people in the Bay Area. We seek to improve the quality of life of our community members by offering various educational and support groups for people suffering from lung disease. Along with these programs and services we provide up to date information on emerging and timely lung issues.
Better Breathers Club
The Better Breathers Club is designed for people with chronic lung disease such as Asthma, Emphysema or Chronic Bronchitis, and their families.
This educational program provides the opportunity to learn more about your lung disease through a variety of speakers that can help you breathe easier and improve the quality of your life. This supportive environment offers the chance to share ideas and concerns. Meetings are held once a month in San Jose and Palo Alto. We also offer quarterly meetings in Gilroy. The meetings are free and new members are always welcome.
For a complete listing of meeting times, locations, speakers and topics see BBC Events.
Sample topics include:
- Traveling with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
- Relaxation and stress management.
- How to communicate with your doctor to meet your needs.
- Depression during the holidays.
