Home Assessment Program
This program helps residents detect indoor pollutants in the home. Studies show that the air we breathe indoors is often more polluted than the air outside. This free service helps residents identify indoor hazards and maintain a healthy indoor environment.
A Step-by-Step Approach
Assessors often find that a homeowner is the greatest contributor to unhealthy living conditions. By simply maintaining a cleaner home environment, residents can help reduce indoor air pollutants significantly. Our trained assessors employ a step-by-step approach, which includes:
- Surveillance of the home
Prior to the inspection, assessors will conduct a general surveillance of the property. - Walkthrough
During the walkthrough, assessors look for factors that are hazardous to the indoor living environment, which may include areas of mold, dust, and/or pet dander. - Recommendations
Assessors will help make on-site recommendations to residents. This can include improving the home’s air circulation or maintaining a cleaner indoor environment. - Final analysis
Upon completion, the assessor will put together a final report for the homeowner. This overall evaluation includes the hazards, which were identified, and the recommendations that were made.
Benefits of our Home Assessment Program
Residents learn a variety of techniques to maintain a healthier home environment and by taking the time to understand the negative effects of indoor air pollutants, residents can:
- Learn a personalized, hands-on approach to maintain a clean home
- Prevent illness, allergies, asthma, and other lung related conditions
- Create and maintain an overall safe and healthy environment for all members of the family.
As a result, these families can eliminate missed days of school/work and ultimately lead healthier lives.
